Simple Peppermint Patty Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Rich, chewy, chocolatey, and minty-these cookies are a treat that everyone loves!

Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate chunk cookie mix (dry mix)
  • ¼ cup salted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 egg
  • 42 mini York Peppermint Patty candies 
  • cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • Red and green sprinkles (or colors of your choice)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. 
  • In a large bowl, use a hand mixer on low speed to combine cookie mix, butter, water, and egg until a soft dough forms. 
  • Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. 
  • Bake 6 – 8 minutes or until edges are set. Remove from oven.
  • Press 1 Peppermint Patty on each cookie. Cool 2 minutes and then remove cookies from cookie sheets, and transfer to cooling racks.
  • Cool completely, for at least 1 hour. 
  • Microwave chocolate chips and heavy whipping cream uncovered on for 60 seconds. Stir until chips are softened and smooth. 
  • Spoon a teaspoonful of melted chocolate on top of each peppermint candy and spread to cover. 
  • Top with sprinkles. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
