The Best Homemade Granola

Snack on the granola, eat it like cereal with your choice of milk, or sprinkle the granola over yogurt for a simple snack that you can take anywhere.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup dried fruit (I used dried cranberries)
  • cup slivered almonds
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 4 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Combine oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, dried fruit, and almonds in a large bowl.
  • In a saucepan or in microwave (in a microwave safe bowl), melt butter.  Remove from heat and add honey.  Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  • Pour the honey/butter over the oat mixture, and stir to combine. 
  • Spread onto a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper.  
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes (until golden brown).
