Simple Peppermint Patty Chocolate Chunk Cookies

INGREDIENTS
- 1 package of chocolate chunk cookie mix (dry mix)
- ¼ cup salted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1 egg
- 42 mini York Peppermint Patty candies
- 1¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- Red and green sprinkles (or colors of your choice)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, use a hand mixer on low speed to combine cookie mix, butter, water, and egg until a soft dough forms.
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
- Bake 6 – 8 minutes or until edges are set. Remove from oven.
- Press 1 Peppermint Patty on each cookie. Cool 2 minutes and then remove cookies from cookie sheets, and transfer to cooling racks.
- Cool completely, for at least 1 hour.
- Microwave chocolate chips and heavy whipping cream uncovered on for 60 seconds. Stir until chips are softened and smooth.
- Spoon a teaspoonful of melted chocolate on top of each peppermint candy and spread to cover.
- Top with sprinkles. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
